What is Venetian Plaster?
Venetian Plaster roughly translates to the Italian phrase ‘Stucco Veneziano’, owing to both its marble dust and lime plaster composition and its history. Although the use of lime-based plasters dates back thousands of years in our history, it was not until the Italian Renaissance period that stucco took shape as an essential building material in the construction of Venice, earning the name we know it today.
Venetian Plaster is durable, versatile and classically unique, requiring a layered application method that creates a stunning depth of texture unmatched by imitation products. It is best applied using one of our specialty trowels or spatulas to achieve a flawless finish.
