At Calce Company, we’ve been waiting a long time for this moment, and this August, it finally happened. In partnership with SherDecor, we brought the Masterclass Down Under course to Australia for the very first time, hosting a series of sold-out events across Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast.

SherDecor is internationally renowned for creating the most realistic stone effects in decorative finishes. Having the master himself here in Australia to share his knowledge was an honour not just for us, but for the entire decorative finishes community.

How a Passion for Polished Stone Effects Was Born

What began as a period of recovery became the start of a new craft. After stepping back from construction due to an operation, SherDecor spent months watching videos on polished stone effects — experimenting, practising, and eventually discovering a deep passion for Venetian plaster. Through dedication and curiosity, his skills grew, and so did his following — leading him to master the art of polished stone finishes that now inspire applicators around the world.
